In the map above and the list below, you'll find dozens of local fireworks displays, concerts, parades, and other patriotic events taking place before, on, and after the nation's 237th birthday. (Note: you may have to zoom out on the map above to view the full range of options.)

Details: At approximately 9:15 p.m., the fireworks will be launched from a barge in Annapolis Harbor. The best viewing areas include public spaces Northeast of the Severn River, along the Naval Academy Bridge (limited parking area), any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek, and aboard a boat in the Annapolis harbor. The Spa Creek Bridge will be closed to traffic beginning at 9 p.m. to create a spectator pier with an unobstructed view of the fireworks.

Location: SoccerPlex at South Germantown Recreational Park
Details: Germantown Glory will kick off at 7 p.m. with a concert by Bobby and the Believers. To reach the South Germantown Recreational Park from I-270, take exit 15B (Route 118 south) toward Germantown; go for 2.8 miles and turn right onto Richter Farm Road. Go one mile and turn left onto Schaeffer Road. The park entrance is 0.3 miles on the right. Ample, free parking is available. The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Details: Join friends and family for the City of Gaithersburg’s Independence Day celebration featuring live music, food, and spectacular fireworks on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 5 p.m. A lively concert will open with “Elizabeth Phil & Chris” at 5:30 p.m. and headliner “The Lloyd Dobler Effect” will take the stage at 7 p.m. The exciting fireworks display is set to launch at dusk.

Details: Mid-County Sparkles activities begin at 7:30 p.m. with a concert by Quiet Fire Soul. Since there will be no on-site parking at the school or at adjacent properties, except for handicapped parking, shuttle buses will pick up passengers, beginning at 6:15 p.m., at Westfield Wheaton Metro Parking Garage adjacent to the JC Penney Department Store. Overflow parking will be available in the south parking lot by Penney’s.

Details: The City of Bowie is parternering with the Bowie Baysox to bring the citizens of Bowie another fanatsic July 4th celebration. This year's program will take place at Prince George's Stadium, located at 4101 Crain Highway, Bowie, MD, beginning at 7 p.m. with a concert by the Fabulous Hubcaps. At 9 p.m. the Mayor will welcome everyone and introduce local elected officials; this will be followed by a short flag ceremony and the singing of our National Anthem. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The event is free and the Baysox will open the doors to the stadium at 6 p.m. Allen Pond Park will be open and free for picnics on July 4th on a first come basis. Details: Old Fashioned July 4 Celebration: Cost of admission from 12 noon to 5 p.m. is Adults $5.00, Age 7-18 and 60+ $4.00, 6 & under FREE with paying adult. After 5 p.m., a $5.00 per car load parking donation will be collected by the Kiwanis Club of Westminster to help offset the cost of the fireworks display. The Farm Museum is a perfect place to spend a relaxing day picnicking on the beautiful grounds with family and friends as you enjoy on-going stage entertainment. This year, the Farm Museum proudly presents The HepCats, The Carroll County Cloggers, Standard Delivery Combo, and Uncle Sam on stilts and the Monkey Man with his monkey, Django. Enjoy a variety of delicious foods for sale and shop for handmade craft items while the children play old-time games or enjoy our moon bounce obstacle course for a small fee of $5.00 for all day fun. Guided tours of the Farmhouse will be given by guides in period attire from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.; the Living History Center, exhibit buildings and the Museum Gift Shop will be open. The Farmhouse features six rooms depicting 19th Century farm life.

Details: The annual Howard County-sponsored fireworks take place at the Lakefront in Columbia. Residents are invited to start saving spots around the lakefront using blankets at 8 a.m. Tarps can be placed after 3 p.m. (to help keep the grass healthy). The fireworks start at dusk, but get there early because Little Patuxent Parkway closes at 7 p.m. (so if you're going later, be prepared for a bit of a hike).

Details: The Aberdeen IronBirds host their annual fireworks show from Ripken Stadium. The club holds many throughout the season at the 6,000-seat ballpark—named for Aberdeen native and ballclub owner Cal Ripken. While the game is sure to be a sellout, other locals will take in the show from the surrounding parking lots or nearby shopping centers—or even along I-95, which runs in deep right field at the minor league stadium. The IronBirds are the short-season Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Amos Garrett Blvd. and proceed down West Street, around Church Circle, and down Main Street. The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The fireworks display will be launched from a barge in the Annapolis Harbor and can be viewed from many water locations.
