Save Your Skin on Don't Fry Day
Today is national Don't Fry Day, intended to encourage sun safety awareness today and every day.
Don’t forget your SPF this Memorial Day weekend. You might consider grabbing a hat and sunglasses, as well. The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have deemed the Friday before May 25 this year Memorial Day as Don't Fry Day, and they encourage folks to Slip! Slop! Slap! and Wrap! when spending time outdoors this holiday weekend: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher, slap on a hat, and wrap on sunglasses. According to the EPA, while some sun exposure is good for you, too much can have detrimental and sometimes deadly effects on your health, and children are particularly at risk.
