From good news on the BARC gate to the Hillside stream restoration project, it's been a busy week in our green city.
The Beltsville Agricultural Research Center's director expressed a willingness to provide access from Research Road onto BARC's property again. We've got a lot of champions at Springhill Lake Recreation Center who are vying for space in a popular gym. They're hoping the city buys the middle school. City Council candidates answer questions about maintenance issues, overpasses and communicating with media. With cold weather arriving in Maryland an inspection of chimneys and heaters may be prudent, according to area chimney and safety professionals. A new project designed to prevent pollution from entering Greenbelt Lake is uniting the city, state and GHI.

Disturbed by the Keystone XL pipeline project, four Greenbelt residents take their protest to the White House and are arrested—one while sitting in her wheelchair.
