With a week left to play, the Raiders are in good shape.
With just a week of regular-season action left to be played, both the boys and girls basketball teams at Eleanor Roosevelt High School are poised for playoff runs. The boys have not been as dominant this season as some had predicted, but they have remained among the top four teams in the Prince George's 4A conference all year. This week's loss to Parkdale has got to be unsettling for Coach Brendan O'Connell and his staff, but with Chaun Miller back from injury, and Jamal Sims flirting with a comeback, the team has a great shot at making a deep playoff run. Their final two games come against Suitland and Flowers, two of the best teams in the county. Coming away with at least one win out of those two contests would be a nice morale boost for…

The Raiders narrowly avoided losing to last-place High Point on Tuesday.
If there was every any doubt how important junior Chaun Miller is to the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders, that doubt is now gone. Miller, the Raiders' second-leading scorer, missed Roosevelt's game against last-place High Point (3-14, 1-11) on Tuesday with a knee injury. Without Miller on the floor, the Raiders, who are among the best teams in the Prince George's 4A Division, barely eked out a 55-53 victory thanks to a buzzer-beating jumper by senior NieRonn Miles. The Breakdown The Raiders (11-5, 8-3) never controlled the pace fully throughout the game. They trailed 29-27 at halftime and led 44-43 after three quarters. Roosevelt hosted the Spartans on Friday and beat them by 10.
After losing to Bladensburg on a controversial call earlier in the week, Roosevelt was back in action on Friday, hosting the Laurel Spartans.
