Update: Man Identified in Greenbelt Hit-and-Run

Bob Auerbach, a Maryland Green Party candidate, was hit Wednesday evening and died later that night.

Update, 11:01 p.m.: The Maryland Green Party reported that the man who died in the hit-and-run accident in Greenbelt Wednesday was former Maryland Green Party candidate for the US House of Representative in the 5th District—Robert Shipley Auerbach.  Auerbach, 92, recently ran for office in November, but had run several times before. Bob was born in New York City in 1919, was active with civil rights and progressive movements his entire life. He worked as a librarian and lived in Greenbelt for the past 50 years. Update: Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run in Pr. George's

Police have identified the pedestrian struck in Suitland Saturday night, but still have no leads on the suspect.

Prince George's County Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Saturday night in Suitland. Police were called to the scene of a person lying in the roadway at 8:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Silver Hill Road. Officers found Michael Eugene White, 55, suffering from wounds from an apparent hit-and-run. White was pronounced dead on scene. An initial investigation revealed that the victim was walking along the northbound shoulder of Silver Hill Road at Suitland Road when he entered the roadway. He was hit by a white Chevy Impala, police said, and the striking vehicle left the scene. The car was last scene headed northbound on Silver Hill Road. US Park Police Search for Suspect in Prince George's Hit-and-Run

The fatal accident occurred more than two years ago in the Temple Hills neighborhood.

US Park Police are hoping the public can help identify a suspect in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in Temple Hills more than two years ago. Sgt. Paul Brooks, with the US Park Police, said the department is trying to close the cold case and is hoping someone with information will come forward. The accident occured around 12:11 a.m. on Sept. 10 on westbound Suitland Parkway at Naylor Road, police reported.  Ebony Tenise Johnson, 27, was struck and killed by a vehicle that did not stop when Johnson was trying to cross the intersection from the northwest corner of Naylor Road, police said. The suspect's vehicle was described as a black pearl metallic Acura RL, also identified as an Acura 3.5L, from 1996 to 1999, police said. The paint …
