Free Comic Book Day, created in 2002, always falls on the first Saturday in May. Participating comic book specialty stores across America give away at least one free comic book to anyone who visits their shop that day. The biggest lottery on earth is the one I already won the day I was born; and I'm living off the interest with every turn of the globe. Try these activities with your children tonight and change the course of your summer.
Many of my friends are having babies, and it’s a reminder for me that our children really do grow up fast. In ten years I doubt my son will say, “I wish mom sat on the sidelines more while I played baseball.” I want my children to remember the time we spent together. I want them to look back on their childhood summers with a smile on their lips. I spent the beginning of summer rushing from one summer camp to another trying to coordinate pick-ups and drop-offs at the same time in opposite parts of town. I was exhausted, and I caught myself snapping at the children every morning as I stressed about getting each child to camp on time. Utopia is showing its winning films on Sunday at no charge.
What could make Utopia more Utopian than its being free? The Utopia Film Festival in Greenbelt is offering festival-goers just that. Cinematogrophiles can see film winners on Sunday for free at Academy 8 Stadium Theaters in Greenbelt. The Best of Utopia will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature Utopia's choices for best films from the festival, including these winners: Utopia Film Festival Winners The following will not be showing Sunday night, but were also winners:
