Two Arrested for Assaulting Officer and other Greenbelt Crime

Several burglaries were reported since Feb. 23 as well as some vandalism.

Greenbelt Police Department released their weekly police reports for Feb. 24 and March 3 and vandalism, burglaries and assaults were reported. Two were arrested for assaulting a police officer in the 6400 block of Capitol Drive the night of Feb. 28. Police reported that around 11:13 p.m., Rashade Butler, 27, of Washington, DC, and Erica Nicolea Franklin, 29, of Hyattsville, were arrested with two counts of second degree assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of disorderly conduct. Butler was also charged with resisting arrest and Franklin was charged with interfering with a lawful arrest. Other crimes reported are listed on the police reports attached to this post.

Arrests Made in Early Morning College Park Robbery

Police say three people assaulted a trio of UMD students before taking their valuables and fleeing.

Authorities say six people were taken into custody Saturday after an early morning robbery in College Park.  According to University of Maryland police, three UMD students were walking in the area of Pontiac Street and Baltimore Avenue around 12:40 a.m. when they were approached from behind by three suspects. The suspects reportedly asked if the students had any money. When they did not respond, the suspects assaulted the students before taking their valuables and fleeing on foot, police said. After responding to the scene, Prince George's County and University of Maryland police conducted a search of the area. UMPD units eventually located one of the students' stolen cell phones and the three original suspects, police said. The suspects …

Greenbelt Police Arrest Teen Suspect in Carjacking, Assault and Armed Robbery

Police arrested Alexander Jesus Gutierrez, 18, also known as Alexander Gutierrez-Abarca of Riverdale.

  Detectives have arrested Alexander Jesus Gutierrez, 18, as a suspect in a Nov. 12 carjacking in the 7500 block of Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt Police said. The suspect is also known as Alexander Gutierrez-Abarca of Riverdale, according to police. Gutierrez allegedly assaulted and robbed a man in the vehicle before carjacking it, according to Ofc. Kelly Lawson, police spokesperson. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Guitierrez from the District Court for Prince George's County that charged him with carjacking, armed robbery and first-degree assault, among other charges, Greenbelt police say.

Greenbelt Police Report: Robbery and Assault, Drug Arrest, 3 DWIs, 10 Automotive Crimes

The following arrest information was supplied by the Greenbelt Police Department for incidents from Nov. 16 through Nov. 20. It does not indicate a conviction.

  A robbery and assault arrest, drug arrest, 3 DWIs, consuming alcohol on public property arrest, and 10 automotive crimes in the Greenbelt police report from Nov. 16 through Nov. 20. Center City Nov. 16 at 11:30 p.m.: Drug Arrest. Walker Drive at Greenbelt Road. A 35-year-old Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on a citation pending trial. Nov. 17 at 4:01 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. 7100 block Greenbelt Road. A 42-year-old Washington man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges, after a traffic stop. Three Teenagers Rob and Assault Teenage Boy in Greenbelt

The victim refused medical treatment, police say.

Three teenagers robbed and assaulted another teenage boy and took his property, according to Greenbelt Police. The suspects are described 15- to 16-year-old males, police say. The victim was robbed at the 7300 block of Morrison Drive at 6:09 p.m. Wednesday and refused medical treatment at the scene, according to police.

Gunshots Fired During Greenbelt Home Invasion Robbery

A 20-year-old woman has been charged.

  Two gunshots were fired during a home invasion robbery in the 7700 block of Greenbrook Drive in Greenbelt, MD, according to Greenbelt Police. Brittany Skyy Dove, 20, of Temple Hills, was charged in the Aug. 10 armed robbery, according to District Court of Maryland records. She was charged with first and second degree assault, robbery with a dangerous weapon and reckless endangerment, according to police. Dove was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. Greenbelt Police said no one was hit by the gunshots. "There are no other details being released at this time since it is still an active investigation," stated officer Kelly Lawson, police spokesperson.

Prince George's Crime Watch: Go-Go Band Promoter Found Shot to Death

A woman is charged with assault after a domestic dispute with man, reports sheriff's office; a Go-Go band promoter for Total Control Band (TCB) is shot and killed, according to police.

  Woman Hits Man's Face with Plate in Domestic Dispute Connie Davis was arrested early Wednesday morning on assault charges after a domestic dispute with a man who said Davis hit him in the face with a plate, according to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office (PGSO). Deputies responded to a call in the 1100 block of Chapel Wood Lane in Capitol Heights, where Davis and the victim lived, and the victim told them that a physical altercation had taken place with his girlfriend, according to the sheriff's office. The victim was later treated at the Prince George's Hospital Center for minor injuries, PGSO says. Davis was charged with first and second degree assault and taken into custody, according to PGSO. Update: Greenbelt Man Injured in Armed Robbery Thursday

An assault victim was taken to the hospital, after two masked men bearing handguns robbed him in Greenbelt, MD, on Thursday, according to police.

Update, May 19 at 2:55 p.m.: A Greenbelt man was taken to the hospital for his injuries, after he was robbed and assaulted by two armed men on the 7900 block of Good Luck Road on Thursday, according to Officer Kelly Lawson with the Greenbelt Police. Lawson said that the victim was not, however, admitted to the hospital.
