Armed Robberies Reported on Cherrywood Lane, Hanover Parkway

The Greenbelt police department is investigating a number of crimes.

Two armed robberies were reported in Greenbelt, according to the latest police crime report. According to the report, police are investigating a strong armed robbery in the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway on March 15. The victim told police that just before 8:30 p.m. two people the victim knew assaulted the victim and took property. Another armed robbery was reported just three days later in the 5500 block of Cherrywood Lane. According to the report, two suspects entered a business and demanded money from the register. The robbery occurred at 11:19 a.m. Several people were also arrested for DUIs over St. Patrick's Day weekend and some vandalism was also reported. Greenbelt Crime: Armed Carjacking on Cherrywood, Armed Robbery on Breezewood

Greenbelt police are investigating an early morning armed carjacking off Cherrywood Lane and several other crimes reported between Feb. 1 and Feb. 7.

Greenbelt police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday. According to police, around 12:44 a.m. the carjacking victim saw two suspects attempting to steal his dark green 2002 Ford Crown Victoria with Maryland tags in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane. When the victim confronted the suspects, police said, they scuffled and a suspect brandished a handgun. Police said the suspects fled the scene in the victim's vehicle. ------- According to the police report attached to this post, a strong armed robbery was also reported in the 6100 block of Breezewood Court. Woman Robbed at Gunpoint on UMD Campus

The incident took place Thursday night near the Chemical/Nuclear Engineering Building.

Authorities say a woman was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night near the University of Maryland's Chemical/Nuclear Engineering Building. According to University of Maryland police, the victim was walking through parking lot around 10:40 p.m. when she was approached by an unknown male. The suspect reportedly pulled out a handgun and demanded the woman's valuables. She complied, handing over cash, gift cards, and other personal items.  The man then fled the area on Paint Branch Drive, police said. Man and Woman Robbed at Gunpoint on Edmonston Road

The Greenbelt Police report an armed robbery on the 9300 bock of Edmonston Road in Greenbelt, MD.

  A man and woman were robbed at gunpoint at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to Greenbelt Police. Two male suspects approached the couple at the 9300 block of Edmonston Road and allegedly displayed a handgun, then took the victims' property, according to police. The suspects are described as males, 20 to 30 years old, and wearing all black clothing. Greenbelt Police Arrest Teen Suspect in Carjacking, Assault and Armed Robbery

Police arrested Alexander Jesus Gutierrez, 18, also known as Alexander Gutierrez-Abarca of Riverdale.

  Detectives have arrested Alexander Jesus Gutierrez, 18, as a suspect in a Nov. 12 carjacking in the 7500 block of Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt Police said. The suspect is also known as Alexander Gutierrez-Abarca of Riverdale, according to police. Gutierrez allegedly assaulted and robbed a man in the vehicle before carjacking it, according to Ofc. Kelly Lawson, police spokesperson. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Guitierrez from the District Court for Prince George's County that charged him with carjacking, armed robbery and first-degree assault, among other charges, Greenbelt police say.

Would-be Robber Walks Away After Victim Says He Has No Money

Suspect, described as a teenager, implied he had a weapon.

Police are searching for a individual described as a teenager who apparently gave up an attempt to rob a man when then victim explained that he had no money. Greenbelt police said the assailant, who implied he had a weapon, asked the victim for money on the 7200 block of Mandan Road. The victim told the would-be robber that he didn't have any money, and the suspect walked away, police said. The incident occurred on Tuesday. The suspect is described as 17 to 18 years old, 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 8, 140 to 155 pounds, and as wearing a black North Face jacket and a black mask.
