TK Therapy was one of the suspected brothels that police and drug task force members raided on Friday, police said Tuesday. Members of the Metropolitan Area Drug Task Force (MADTF) and the Greenbelt Police Department raided three Greenbelt establishments that were operating under the guise of acupuncture and massage parlors, according to a police press release. Two of the establishments were also raided last summer. One was an acupuncture health facility, operating from a business complex at 7335 Hanover Parkway, Suite C & D, in Greenbelt, police said. Acting on a citizen's complaint, Greenbelt police report searching two businesses for suspected prostitution.
Greenbelt Police reported Friday that charges are pending against two businesses that they raided and suspect are brothels. The Greenbelt Police Department said that, along with the Metropolitan Area Drug Task Force (MADTF), they executed a search and seizure warrant on May 27 into a possible brothel that police say was posing as an acupuncture health facility, operating from a business complex at 7335 Hanover Parkway, Suite C & D, in Greenbelt. After what they uncovered there, police began to suspect another institution that they had received complaints about as well, Greenbelt Police Chief James Craze said. Angel’s Touch Skincare and Wellness has taken the space that Pleasant Touch spa used to hold in Greenbelt's Roosevelt Center.
Mary-Anne Fonka, former skin therapist at Pleasant Touch, is the new owner of Angel’s Touch, located in the same spot at 133 Centerway in Greenbelt. She said Angel’s Touch, which opened on May 1, will offer some of the spa treatments that Pleasant Touch did, but it will also provide new services — like workshops on beauty and wellness; on healthy living; and on makeup, as well as offer spa packages including couples retreats. Zumba, a calorie-burning dance fitness program that originated in Columbia, is also part of Angel's Touch's repertoire.
