City of Greenbelt Animal Control Building
550 Crescent Rd, Greenbelt, MD 20770
The Animal Control building, located just behind the Greenbelt Police Station, provides the community with all of itsMore pet adoption and surrendering needs. The organization was an arm of the Greenbelt Police until City Planning took over in 2001. At this location, Animal Control houses any animal considered a pet, including dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes and fish. It also has a separate wildlife services division, but it does not house surrendered wildlife at the building. Residents interested in adopting need to act quickly, since dogs are adopted almost as soon as they are dropped off. It is also important to note that this is a no-kill facility that does not discriminate against age. All pets are welcome for surrendering to the shelter, as long as the owner is a Greenbelt resident.
