Police Searching for Missing Upper Marlboro Woman

Erica Antonette Jackson, 39, was last seen by her husband in Upper Marlboro on Wednesday morning.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is searching for a missing Upper Marlboro woman. Erica Antonette Jackson, 39, was last seen by her husband leaving their home in the 12400 block of Open View Lane, Upper Marlboro on Wednesday morning to go to work.  Jackson may be suffering from depression and could be a danger to herself.  She has not been seen since. Police Search for Missing Bladensburg Man

Jimmy Richardson, 71, suffers from dementia. He was last seen Wednesday evening.

The Prince George's County Police Department is searching for a missing Bladensburg man who suffers from dementia. Seventy-one-year-old Jimmy Richardson, who is not on medication for his condition, was last seen by his neighbor at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at his residence at the 4900 block of 56th Ave. in the unincorporated section of Bladensburg. Police believe Richardson walked away from the residence, and he has not been seen or heard from since. Police provide the following description for Richardson: Anyone with information about Richardson is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department’s District I Investigative Section at 301-699-2601. CK One and Done: PG Police Sniff Out Perfume Theft Ring For two District of Columbia women, their scented trail of theft has finally been sniffed out by the Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD), with groundwork laid by the Glenarden Police Department. The PGPD arrested 19-year old Darquesha Shelby Wilkinson and 23-year old Latasha Renee Mungo for their involvement in an organized theft ring where thousands of dollars worth of stolen assorted perfumes were recovered, according to police. Loss prevention officers at JC Penney spotted Wilkinson and Mungo stealing assorted perfumes on on May 8, in the store on the 9000 block of McHugh Drive in Glenarden, according to police. They left the store, however, without being detained. …

Greenbelt Police Chief James Craze honored three of Greenbelt's finest at City Council's regular meeting Monday. The trio had also been singled out for awards at the recent 2012 Chief's Award Ceremony for Prince George's County. Chief Craze honored Cpl. Greenbelt Police Chief James Craze honored three of Greenbelt's finest at City Council's regular meeting Monday. The first award Craze announced was: Communications Specialist Lindsey Keifline—Civilian of the Year Responding to a report of domestic child abuse last December, officers found two young children whose mother had injured them. The children were transported to Children's Hospital, and officers arrested their mother and transported her to headquarters. Greenbelt Police Walk Against Drunk Driving Saturday

With $200 raised, there's still room to show support for the Greenbelt Police's Saturday walk against drunk driving.

  The Greenbelt Police Department has formed a team to participate in the annual “Walk Like MADD” event that will be held Saturday morning. “WALK like MADD” is an annual 5K walk hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving's (MADD). The Greenbelt Police officers will join other participants from the area on Federal Hill in Baltimore at 8:30 a.m. to walk for this cause. The walks will occur in 40 cities around the nation. If you are interested in making a donation to the Greenbelt Police Department team, please go to the "Walk Like MADD" website. Unattended Cooking Ignites Townhouse Fire in Greenbelt

A townhouse caught fire on 8253 Canning Terrace causing an estimated $25,000 in fire loss.

A kitchen caught fire at 8253 Canning Terrace in Greenbelt, MD, Friday due to unattended cooking, according to Mark Brady, Prince George's Fire Department (PGFD) spokesman. It started at the stove or oven top, he specified. The damage estimate is $25,000 Brady said, explaining that the townhouse sustained significant smoke and heat damage in addition to the damage to the kitchen. People were home when the fire started, but they were able to escape safely, he said. The call came in around noon, and fire fighters arrived at 12:06 p.m., within 10 minutes they had they fire out, according to Brady. "We had it knocked out pretty quickly," he said, which prevented any extension of the end-unit townhouse to other units.

Greenbelt Man Charged with Stealing from UMd. Student

Student's property stolen while left unattended at Cole Field House.

A Greenbelt man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly taking a University of Maryland student's wallet, cell phone and other personal property, according to police. Michael Lee, 50, is charged with theft under $1,000 and trespassing on school grounds, police report. According to a University of Maryland news release: The victim left his belongings unattended while playing soccer at Cole Field House. He noticed a man near his belongings, and later realized they were missing. After the victim reported his missing property, police found that the stolen credit cards were used at a Brentwood gas station. Brentwood Police tracked down Lee, who had the student's property in his possession. Lee is currently being held on $2,000 bond at the Prince …
