Announcement: Hopscotch Japanese-Style in Greenbelt

Improve balance, agility, coordination and mental acuity in a classic game with a new twist—developed by Japanese researchers.

Karen Haseley, therapeutic recreation supervisor with the Greenbelt Recreation Department, announces:

Remember playing Hopscotch as a kid? Well Japanese researchers have developed a new form of the classic game, called square-stepping. The goal is to step in and out of the squares in prescribed patterns of varying complexity. This activity has shown to be fun, as well as improve balance, agility, coordination and mental acuity.
