PHOTOS: A Big Thank You to Greenbelt Elementary Teachers

During Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week at Greenbelt Elementary School, moms handed out goodie bags to say thanks.

Lauren Rankel felt she couldn't let pass without doing something special to say thanks to the teachers, bus drivers, custodial workers and crossing guards at . So on Friday, she and her 7-year-old daughter Grace headed out to the school bearing gifts.

With an idea inspired by the canvas bag she had received at Greenbelt's , Rankel contacted Patch asking for extra bags to put goodies in. Patch was glad to help out, but the movers and shakers award goes to the moms who were determined to find a way to show their appreciation.

Melinda Brady and her 6-year-old daughter Rebecca met Lauren and Grace at the school's front door, where they loaded the bags into carts and went from classroom to classroom saying thanks.
