PGCPS Talented-and-Gifted Program Accepting Applications

Interested parents can apply by email and students will be placed by Oct. 1.

Due to an extension of Prince George’s County Public School’s (PGCPS) Talented-and-Gifted (TAG) program, the wait lists for some grades and locations have been depleted and new applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a press release.

Only students identified for the TAG program before the 2012-2013 school year are eligible to apply for the lottery. Interested parents should send an email to PASBT@pgcps.org including the child’s name, date of birth, current grade and PGCPS student number with an email subject line of “Lottery.” Applications will be accepted until Sept. 28.

Parents without email should call 301-952-6262 for application assistance, states the press release.

According to the press release, seats are available in the following schools and grades:

  • Glenarden Woods Elementary-Grades 2, 3, 5
  • Greenbelt Middle-Grade 8
  • Heather Hills Elementary-Grade 5
  • Highland Park Elementary-Grade 5
  • Longfields Elementary-Grades 2, 3, 5
  • Walker Mill Middle-Grades 6, 8
