Bill Nye Delivers 30 iPads to Greenbelt Middle

The school received the donation as a part of "Flipping for Sophia" online campaign.

Bill Nye—the Science Guy—from the popular children's television show from the 90s, delivered 30 iPads to a Greenbelt Middle School sixth grade class Monday morning, which were donated by Sophia.org.

Sixth-grade science teacher Michelle Behnfeldt and her students received the donation as a part of the “Flipping for Sophia" online campaign, which according to Prince George's County Public Schools "started last September, and was sponsored by Sophia.org, which features an online education platform that offers more than 33,000 academic tutorials on a wide variety of subjects."

The “flipped” classroom model helps students learn through the latest technology and allows more one-on-one time between the teacher and students in class.
