Greenbelt Poll Shows Roberts As Favorite for Transportation Board

As of Feb. 1, most Greenbelt poll takers favored Roberts when it came to who should serve as the city's representative on the Transportation Planning Board.

Patch posted a poll on Jan. 27, following Greenbelt City Councilmember to share the city's one seat on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government's Transportation Planning Board (TPB).

Generally a much larger number of people read a story than those who stop to take its poll — as is the case with this poll.

As of Feb. 2, early morning, with 159 votes in, the majority of poll takers came in on Roberts side. Fifty percent felt that Roberts should have been able to keep his seat on the TPB — with no obligation to share it.

While 25 percent felt Jordan should be the lead on the TPB, a smaller 16 percent thought that the compromise Jordan and Roberts agreed to was a good one. Only 6 percent of poll takers questioned why we all can't just get along.

Greenbelters have one more week to register their opinions. The poll closes on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 9 p.m.

Participation requires no registration, just a mouse click.
