NASA Goddard Toasts the Tuskegee Airmen During Black History Month

Celebrates Black History Month with lessons from a Tuskegee Airman speaking from Greenbelt's NASA Goddard.

On Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuskegee Airman, Sgt. Harry Quinton will be on hand for NASA Goddard's "Flying Through African American History with the Tuskegee Airmen" series. This week's topic is "Technology Advances the Tuskegee Airmen."

The program focuses on students from kindergarden through 12th grades, who  can watch the live webcast. Once you get to NASAs site select Flash or Windows media under webcast streams.

Description: During World War II began, the aerospace industry bounded forward. But pilots to fly aircraft were were scarce. Technology supported the part the Tuskegee Airman’s played in victory over Nazism and Fascism in the European skies and racism on American soil.
