NASA Goddard Sends Comfort Items to Soldiers

More than 90 boxes have been sent out.

More than 90 boxes of comfort items are en route to military members overseas from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from their second annual Operation Give Thanks Program. It was the last of many ways the center has honored veterans this year.

“This community really supported our efforts and I want to thank each and every person who gave items and/or time to this cause,” said Mark Hubbard, the center's Veterans Affairs Committee chairperson. “I think we can never do too much to serve and honor our greatest defense for freedom, America’s military members.”

Also in honor of veterans, last month, Goddard hosted a Veterans Day recognition program where Goddard community members were offered the opportunity to remember family veterans by placing their names on a “Wall of Remembrance.”
