Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown’s gubernatorial campaign announced Tuesday it received the endorsement of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry.

The union is the second—the Laborers International Union of North America already endorsed his candidacy—to back his bid for the Democratic nomination in 2014, according to a campaign news release.

"The hardworking men and women of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters are vital partners in our work to grow Maryland’s economy and I’m honored to have earned their support," Brown said in the news release.

Brown, a Prince George's resident who formerly represented the county in Annapolis, isn’t the only Democratic candidate to announce recent endorsements.

City Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke endorsed Montgomery County Del. Heather Mizeur last week. Actress Sonja Sohn, who played Detective Kima Greggs on the HBO series "The Wire," penned an editorial in The Baltimore Sun explaining her support of Mizeur.

Attorney General Douglas Gansler is also running for the nomination.
