Easter Egg Hunt Draws Families From Near and Far

Greenbelt Mayor Judith "J" Davis, Mr. Bunny and two council members led the countdown as attendees eagerly awaited the egg hunt April 25.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at Buddy Attick Park, hosted by the City of Greenbelt's Department of Recreation, attracted lots of excited children, some who arrived with their grandparents.

Despite the postponement — due to weather — and the early morning rain, about 200 people from across the county attended the festive event.

Kids arrived with colorful baskets, backpacks and an assortment of containers in hopes of finding the hidden colored eggs.

Greg May's show, "Mayhem Magical Circus," elicited laughter, wide eyes and participation from many of the children — and even some of the grown-ups.

"It was a great turnout," said Rebekah Sutfin, community center coordinator.
