Council Designates Roadways In School Zones
Thirty-one roadways, and in some cases portions of roadways, in Greenbelt are listed as being in school zones, where speed cameras may be placed.
Following a , Greenbelt's City Council voted unanimously to establish five, half-mile school zones throughout the city and has plans to install speed cameras to automatically ticket motorists who are going too fast.
The schools Council passed zones for Monday are:
- Eleanor Roosevelt High School
- Greenbelt Elementary School
- Greenbelt Middle School
- Springhill Lake Elementary School
- Turning Point Academy
Turning Point Academy is in Lanham, but some Greenbelt streets are within a half-mile radius of the school.
