City Council Plans to Be Invisible at Community Visioning Sessions
Greenbelt is set to have three community visioning sessions Saturday.
Greenbelt City Council plans to be present at the city’s three community visioning sessions being held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, but their focus will be on citizens, according to council.
Councilmember Roberts told his colleagues at council's regular meeting Monday that he felt they should be invisible and not try to influence the outcomes. Councilmember Edward Putens clarified that members of council would attend the sessions to help with the introductions then step aside.

The visioning events aim to provide residents with a chance to express their views on Greenbelt and how to make it the best community it can be, according to an event flyer.
“We would urge all residents to come to one of those sessions and join in and give their ideas and suggestions to make Greenbelt a better place in the coming years,” City Manager Michael McLaughlin told council.
