Update: Police Investigating If Greenbelt Robberies Are Related

Two armed robberies occurred on April 24 in Greenbelt.

Update, 1:55 p.m.: Police are investigating whether the April 24 armed robberies on Greenbelt Road and Lakeside Drive are related, Officer Kelly Lawson, spokesperson for the Greenbelt Police Department, told Patch Tuesday. 

The two suspects who robbed a man on Greenbelt Road stole his cell phone and money, but the victim was not injured according to Lawson.

Original Post, May 1, 12:25 p.m.: Two suspects displaying a handgun demanded a victim's property on the 7500 block of Greenbelt Road at 11:21 p.m. on April 24, according to the Greenbelt Police Department. One of the suspects was described as a 5-foot 11 black male, with a thin build and long dreadlocks, who was wearing a black quilted coat, police stated. The gender of the second suspect was unknown and the suspect was described as shorter than the first suspect with a similar coat.

This was one of two armed robberies in Greenbelt on Thursday, April 24. At 11:47 p.m., two suspects displaying a handgun robbed a taxi driver on Lakeside Drive, according to police.
