Truck With Propane Tank Overturns After Accident in Greenbelt

Three adults were transported to local hospitals following the accident.

A truck containing a small propane tank overturned on Friday after an accident with a maroon van on Kenilworth Avenue (MD 201) near Crescent Road, according to Greenbelt police.

Hazardous materials crews were called to the scene as a precaution, because of the propane tank in the overturned vehicle, Officer Kelly Lawson, spokesperson for the Greenbelt Police, said. There were not any leaks, however, according to Lawson.

Three adults were transported to local hospitals by ambulance following the accident, which occurred at about 1:36 p.m., Lawson said.

The truck, which bore graphics depicting a Polish sausage, snacks, ice cream and cold drinks, rolled on it's side after the accident and was towed from the accident scene.

Lawson said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
