Trial of Slain Alexandria Activist Comes to Close
The verdict could be decided as early as Monday.
The trial for the man charged in the killing of an Alexandria activist will close Monday, the office of Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks announced.
Closing arguments are set to begin around 1:30 p.m.
Tyrone Lewis is facing murder and carjacking charges in the death of Lenny Harris—a community activist.
Harris, 53, went missing from Alexandria in September 2011. After a months-long search, his body was found in a Fort Washington well on Jan. 26, 2012.
Lewis' co-defendant, Linwood Johnson, pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and related charges and is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
