Three Armed Robberies, Concealed Deadly Weapon Arrest, 2 Drug Arrests, Burglary, 4 DWIs, Disorderly Conduct Arrest: Greenbelt Police Report

The following arrest information, from Sept. 6 through Sept. 12, was supplied by the Greenbelt Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Three armed robberies; a concealed deadly weapon arrest; two drug arrests; a charge of possession with intent to distrubute in a school zone; burglary; four DWIs; disorderly conduct arrest; and seven automative crimes were reported by the Greenbelt Police Department from Sept. 6 through Sept. 12.

Center City

Sept. 7 at 3:05 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Old Calvert Road. A 23 year-old Springfield, VA, man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Sept. 8 at 2:45 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Old Calvert Road. A 26 year-old Capitol Heights man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

Sept. 6 at 7:56 p.m.: Burglary. 6000 block of Springhill Drive. Electronics were taken.

Sept. 7 at 8:18 p.m.: Drug Arrest. 6000 block of Breezewood Drive. A 36-year old Greenbelt man and a 43-year old Silver Spring man were arrested after a traffic stop. The Silver Spring suspect was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and released on citations pending trial. The Greenbelt suspect was charged with possession with intent to distribute in a school zone, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Sept. 8 at 3:10 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. A 39-year old Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 9:07 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Springhill Drive at Springhill Terrace. A 27-year old Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Sept. 9: Armed Robbery. 6100 block of Breezewood Court. The suspect approached the victim and took his property. The suspect was described as a  male with a folding knife wearing a black shirt and a black ski mask.

At 10:41 p.m.: Armed Robbery. 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace. Two suspects approached the victim and robbed him of cash at gunpoint. The suspects are described as two black males, both approximately 5’11”, both wearing black T-shirts, bluejeans and black shoes, both with cornrows.

Sept. 11 at 1:02 p.m.: Concealed Deadly Weapon Arrest. 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace. A 29 year-old Lanham, MD, man was arrested and charged with concealed deadly weapon. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Automotive Crime—City Wide

Sept. 6: Theft from Auto. 100 block of Westway. Front tag was taken.

Sept. 7: Vandalism. 7900 block of Mandan Road. A rear side window had been damaged by a pellet.

Stolen Vehicle. 9100 block of Springhill Lane. A white 2000 Cadillac DTS 4-door with Maryland tags.

Sept. 9: Vandalism. 5700 block of Greenbelt Metro Drive. A window was broken.

Vandalism. 7900 block of Mandan Road. Small dent on driver’s side front-end bumper.

Sept. 11: Theft from Auto Arrest. 6000 Greenbelt Road. A 30-year old Hyattsville man was arrested and charged with theft under $100. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and was banned from Beltway Plaza and Franklin Park.

Sept. 12: Vandalism. 7900 block of Mandan Road. A window was broken – 2 incidents.
