County Crime Watch: Councilwoman Cited For Speeding, Police Investigate Teen Murder

Toles Cited for Reckless Driving after PGPD Executive Review Panel
Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD) Chief Mark Magaw announced Tuesday that county council member Karen Toles was issued a reckless driving citation on the recommendation of the PGPD executive review panels. The citation carried a $510 fine and a six-point driving record penalty, according to Magaw. Toles was traveling close to 105 mph—50 mph above the speed limit along the Capital Beltway, according to WUSA9 and other news reports.
Police said the officer who pulled Toles over did not have the proper equipment to cite her for reckless driving during the initial traffic stop.

Police Investigate Murder of 18-Year-Old on Keating Street

Delonte Michael McCray, 18, was pronounced dead on March 3 after a reported March 2 shooting, according to the PGPD. Patrol officers responded to the 2600 block of Keating Street in Temple Hills for the report of a shooting at approximately 11:13 p.m., March 2, police said. Upon arrival, officers found McCray of Regency Parkway in Suitland, lying on the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Detectives are currently working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case. Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the PGPD Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. Two Persons of Interest in Connection to Check and Fraud Case
According to PGPD reports, the PGPD's Financial Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals who are considered persons of interest in connection to a check and fraud case that occurred in January.
