Pr. George's Police to Honor Officer Killed in Clinton Crash

Officer Kevin Bowden will be laid to rest Saturday.

 

Prince George's County Police will honor the life of Officer Kevin Bowden this weekend when he's laid to rest.

when the cruiser he was driving was allegedly clipped by an SUV before hitting a utility pole at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Surratts Road in Clinton.

He was transported to a local hospital, but, the father of two and a six-year veteran of the force, succumbed to his injuries.

The woman driving the SUV received treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending on the driver.

Two viewings will be held for Bowden. The first will be Friday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lee's Funeral Home at 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd. in Clinton. The second will be held on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint Stephen's Baptist Church at 5757 Temple Hill Rd. in Temple Hills.

Immediately following Saturday's viewing will be a memorial service. Bowden will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery at 1300 Bladensburg Rd. NE in DC.
