Police: Suspicious Man Approaches Teen in Greenbelt East

Greenbelt Police are asking residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior.

Police are reminding residents to stay alert after a 16-year-old girl was approached by a suspicious man in Greenbelt East Tuesday night.

The teen was approached in the area of Mandan Road at Hanover Parkway around 9:23 p.m., police reported.

A black man in his 30s, wearing a red and yellow button-down shirt drove up to where the teen was walking, in possibly a Cadillac Escalade or another black SUV, police said. He then left the SUV and tried to talked to the teen, but when she refused he grabbed her arm and questioned her refusal. She told him to leave her alone and the man left, according to the report.

The girl was unharmed, police said, however they are asking residents to stay vigilant.
