Update: Police Identify Victim in Beltsville Homicide Investigation

Prince George's County Police have identified the now deceased man, whom they found shot in Beltsville early Wednesday.

Update, 6:15 p.m.: The Prince George's County Police Department has identified the now deceased man, whom they found in Beltsville last night suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The suspected homicide victim is 22-year old Afamefuna Jamaine Onwuka of the 4400 block of 75th Avenue in Landover, Md., according to police.

The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit is working to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive in this case.

Original Post, 3:29 a.m.: Prince George’s County police responded to a report of shooting on the 4600 block of Garrett Avenue in Beltsville at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to police. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police are on the scene conducting a preliminary investigation.
