Update: Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run in Pr. George's

Police have identified the pedestrian struck in Suitland Saturday night, but still have no leads on the suspect.

Prince George's County Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Saturday night in Suitland.

Police were called to the scene of a person lying in the roadway at 8:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Silver Hill Road.

Officers found Michael Eugene White, 55, suffering from wounds from an apparent hit-and-run. White was pronounced dead on scene.

An initial investigation revealed that the victim was walking along the northbound shoulder of Silver Hill Road at Suitland Road when he entered the roadway. He was hit by a white Chevy Impala, police said, and the striking vehicle left the scene.

The car was last scene headed northbound on Silver Hill Road. Police said the vehicle should have front-end damage.
