Police Blotter: Sept. 3 – 9

The Greenbelt Police released an activity report of crime in the last week.

Sept. 3: A commercial burglary was reported at 7:34 a.m. on the 7200 block of Hanover Parkway, but nothing was taken.

A commercial burglary was reported at 7:53 a.m. on the 7200 block of Hanover where prescription pads were taken.

A commercial burglary was reported at 8:46 a.m. at the 8900 block of Edmonston Road where a desktop computer was taken.

Several acts of vandalism were reported in an area of 15 Crescent Rd. at 11:50 a.m. The unknown suspect wrote illegible graffiti on several cars parked at the Labor Day Festival.

A resident male juvenile, 15 was arrested for disorderly conduct at 4:53 p.m. at the intersection of Hanover Parkway and Mandan Road. He was released to his mother on juvenile petition pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.

A strong-arm robbery attempt was reported at the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive where two black males approached a suspect outside a building on his cell phone at 7:56 p.m. One suspect revealed a gun, demanded money, and then hit the man in the face. After the victim told suspects he was on the phone with the police, they fled the scene. They were described as two black males between 18-20-years-old and one of the suspects was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Disorderly conduct was reported at 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Southway Road and Crescent Road. Blake Peguero, 22, of Riverdale and Steven Lozadomatias, 23, of Hyattsville were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after being told to leave the Roosevelt Center because of a disturbance. Both suspects were investigated and later released.

A stereo system was taken from a vehicle on the 8000 block of Mandan Road.

Sept. 4: Unknown suspects broke into the locked front door of a residence at the 6200 block of Springhill Court and removed two flat-screen TVs at 4:54 a.m.

A non-resident juvenile, 13, was charged with disorderly conduct pursuant to a fight involving her friends at 10:11 a.m. on the 100 block of Centerway. The suspect was released on juvenile petition to her father pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.

A CD player was taken from a vehicle at the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

Sept. 5: A woman was robbed on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road at 3:54 p.m. She was approached by the suspect who pushed an unknown object into her back, implying a weapon, and demanded money as she walked to her car. The victim relinquished her walled and last saw the suspect entering the mall near Giant Food. The suspect was described as a black male, 20–25, 6'2", 180–200 pounds, black hair, dark complexion and wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts.

A large rock was thrown through the window of a residence at the 9100 block of Edmonston Court at 11:23 p.m.

A GPS was taken from a vehicle parked on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace.

A vehicle was scratched on the 100 block of Centerway.

Sept. 6: Paint was damaged on a car parked on the 9100 block of Breezewood Court.

Sept. 7: Graffiti was written on the guardrail at the overpass of the spillway at Buddy Attick Park at 11:02 a.m.

A child's laptop was taken from the 9000 block of Springhill Drive at 2:12 p.m.

An air compressor and generator were taken from a vehicle on the 9100 block of Edmonston Court.

A Pioneer DVD head unit was taken from a car on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court.

Sept. 8: A window was broken by unknown means at 10:31 a.m. at the 6200 block of Breezewood Drive.

Vernon L. Hines, Jr., 21, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute on school grounds, possession of CDS paraphernalia, false statement to a police officer, controlled deadly weapon on school grounds and trespassing on school grounds at 12:45 at 7601 Hanover Parkway. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Lequan Allen Mosley, 18, of Greenbelt and a 16-year-old resident juvenile were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway at 11:02 a.m. Mosley was charged on criminal citation and released, while the juvenile was released on citation to her grandfather pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.

Strong-armed robbery was reported at the 6100 block of Springhill Terrace at 4:23 p.m. The victim was walking home from school when the suspect approached him, hit him in the head, stole a necklace and glasses and then proceeded to throw rocks at the victim's car, smashing his windshield and passenger window. The suspect was described as a black male, 15-16, 5'11", 150 pounds and last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

Fabian Yordano, 20, of Greenbelt was charged and arrested with possession of CDS Paraphernalia at the 6000 block of Breezewood Drive at 5:28 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

A 1993 Honda Accord that was inoperable and without tags was stolen from the 6200 block of Springhill Court.

Sept. 9: The driver's side passenger door window was broken on a vehicle parked n the 7000 block of Matthew Street.

A Sony car stereo was taken from a car on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

Darnell Delante Nash, 21, of Largo was arrested and charged with theft under $100 after a traffic stop at Route 201 North of 95-S, where they recovered a stolen tag. The suspect was released from the scene on a citation pending trial.
