Police Blotter: May 20 - 25

The weekly crime activity report from the Greenbelt Police.

May 20: Currency was taken from a residence on the 7200 block of Hanover Parkway at 9:12 a.m. 

A strong arm robbery occurred on the 8300 block of Canning Terrace at 9:49 a.m. The victim was approached by the two suspects, who assaulted the victim and took his property. The suspects were apprehended by police in the area. A resident juvenile and a non-resident juvenile were petitioned for strong arm robbery and 2nd degree assault. The juveniles were released to their guardians pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services. 

Devin Holland, 20, and Gabrielle Symone Brown, 21, both of Hyattsville, were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road at 3:45 p.m. Both suspects were released on citation pending trial.

A vehicle was scratched on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace.

The vehicle’s registration and owner’s manual were taken from a vehicle on the 7700 block of Greenbelt Road.

A bag, containing personal items, was taken from a vehicle on the 6100 block of Greenbelt Road.

May 21: Xavier O’Brien Raynor, 21, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 5500 block of Cherrywood Lane at 6:06 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

Marco Antonio Gonzalez Mendez, 31, of College Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop near the Kenilworth Avenue and Crescent Road intersection at 8:39 p.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial. 

A strong arm robbery was reported on the 100 block of Centerway at 11:11 p.m. The victim was approached by the suspects, who assaulted him and took his property. The suspects are described as two black males, 15-18 years old, with black hair and brown eyes. 

Two car windows were broken on the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway. 

May 22: A window was broken on the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway at 12:45 p.m. 

A windshield was damaged on the 6200 block of Breezewood Drive.

A windshield was broken and tires cut on the 8000 block of Greenbury Drive.

A car was spray painted on the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway.

May 23: Electronics were taken from a residence on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane at 11:26 p.m.   

Clothes were taken from a vehicle on the 7600 block of Greenbrook Drive.

May 24:  Graffiti was found on a building on the 100 block of Centerway at 6:54 a.m. 

Electronics were taken from a residence on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane at 1:53 p.m. 

Stanley Jerome Murphy, Jr., 19, of Capitol Heights, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway at 4:35 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

Jewelry was taken from a residence on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court at 5:46 p.m. 

Marcus Elliott Andrews, 18, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 7900 block of Mandan Road at 6:50 p.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial. 

An attempted vehicle theft occurred on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace. 

A gold 2000 Cadillac with Maryland tags was stolen on the 6400 block of Capitol Drive. 

May 25: A burglary took place at a residence on the 9100 block of Edmonston Court at 5:07 p.m. Nothing was taken. 

A blue 1999 Plymouth Voyager Van with Maryland tags was stolen near the Kenilworth Avenue exit at Route 495.    

A door lock was damaged on the 6200 block of Springhill Court.
