Police Blotter: July 29 - Aug 4

The following arrest information was supplied by the Greenbelt Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 29: Glue and paper were stuck to a windshield on the 6200 block of Springhill Court.
 
A front Maryland license plate was taken from a vehicle on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane. 
 
July 30: Andre Khalil Simpson, 20, of Temple Hills, and Aaron Earrest Shockley, Jr., 21, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on the 6300 block of Golden Triangle Drive at 11:12 p.m. Both suspects were released on citation pending trial.
 
A flashlight and wheel lock key were taken from a vehicle on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane.
 
A CD/GPS radio was taken from a vehicle on the 7800 block of Walker Drive.
 
July 31: A temporary license plate was taken from a vehicle on the 7700 block of Cloister Place.
 
Aug 1: Vehicle tires were damaged. John Slauter Nichols, 66, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with malicious destruction on the Unit block of Southway at 10:51 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.
 
A rock was thrown through a window on the 9100 block of Edmonston Road at 12:23 p.m.
 
Tools were taken from a vehicle on the 6200 block of Springhill Court. 
 
Door locks were damaged on the 6200 block of Springhill Court.
 
A white/gray 1995 Lincoln Town Car with Maryland tags was taken on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane.
 
A maroon 2002 Dodge Ram with Maryland tags was recovered in Upper Marlboro by Prince George's County Police on the 7500 block of Mandan Road. No arrests were made.
 
Aug 2: A rock was thrown through a residential window on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane at 2:29 p.m.
 
Hector Espinoza, 29, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the 6200 block of Breezewood Drive at 10:48 p.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.
 
A North Carolina tag, reported stolen through Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina, was recovered on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive. No arrests were made.
 
A GPS unit and CDs were taken from a vehicle on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road.
 
Golf clubs were taken from a vehicle on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.
 
A TV and speakers were taken from a vehicle on the 8000 block of Mandan Road.
 
Aug 3: A wallet was taken from a residence on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane at 8:55 a.m.
 
A gray/silver 2006 Suzuki motorcycle with Maryland tags was taken on the 7600 block of Greenbrook Drive at 9:55 a.m.
 
A non-resident juvenile was petitioned for possession of drug paraphernalia near the intersection of Ora Glen Drive and Greenbrook Drive at 10:47 a.m. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.
 
A catalytic converter was taken from a vehicle on the 7700 block of Greenbelt Road.
 
Aug 4: Oscar M. Ventura-Orantes, 34, of College Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop near the intersection of Cherrywood Court and Cherrywood Terrace at 1:46 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

A white 2010 Chrysler Van with Florida tags, reported stolen through Arlington County Police, was recovered near the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Ivy Lane. No arrests were made.
