Police Blotter: Jan. 7 – Jan. 11

The weekly crime activity report from the Greenbelt Police.

Jan. 7: A DVD player and jewelry were taken at a residence on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court at 11:31 a.m.

Prescription medications were taken from a residence at 11 Court Laurel Hill Road at 4:09 p.m.

A car window was broken on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

Jan. 8: A car window was broken on the 8100 block of Lakecrest Drive.

A car window was broken on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court.

A stereo receiver was taken on the 9100 block of Edmonston Court.

A car window was broken on the 7900 block of Lakecrest Drive.

A car window was broken on the 8100 block of Lakecrest Drive.

A GPS unit was taken on the 8100 block of Lakecrest Drive.

A gray 1998 Mazda Protégé with Washington, D.C. tags was stolen on the 200 block of Lakeside Drive.

A set of Maryland tags was taken on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court.

Jan. 9: Hugo Gereda Crespo, 26, of Riverdale, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Cherrywood Lane and Ivy Lane at 2:20 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Charis Antoinette King, 35, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and 62nd Avenue at 2:55 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

A laptop and game system were taken from a residence on the 5900 block of Springhill Drive at 4:46 p.m.           

Three cars had windows damaged on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane.

A car window was damaged on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

A car was spray painted on the 9100 block of Edmonston Road.

Jan. 10: A black 1999 Ford Mustang with Maryland tags, reported stolen through Prince George’s County Police, was recovered on the 5700 block of Greenbelt Metro Drive at 4:12 p.m. Wilmer Alberto Reyes, 20, of Beltsville, and Wilfredo Vanegas-Ponce, 25, of Silver Spring, were arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft and theft under $10,000. Both suspects were released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

A green 1998 Honda Accord with Maryland tags, reported stolen through the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, was recovered on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court. No arrests were made.

A car window was damaged on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

A red 1990 Toyota Tacoma with Maryland tags, reported stolen through Montgomery County Police, was recovered on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace. No arrests were made.

Jan. 11: Michael Anthony Bond, 28, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road and 63rd Avenue at 12:47 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

An attempted strong arm robbery occurred on the 9000 block of Breezewood Terrace at 2:49 p.m. The victim was approached by several suspects, who assaulted the victim and rummaged through his pockets. The suspects are described as black females.           

Graffiti was found on a sign on 30 Court Ridge Road at 4:02 p.m.           

A rear Maryland tag was taken on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road.

Jan. 12: An attempted murder occurred on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane at 7:20 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a male bleeding in the hallway of an apartment building. Officers found a 31-year-old Hispanic male from Greenbelt suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to the Prince George's Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical condition. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-542-2133.

A burglary took place on the 6000 block of Springhill Drive at 4:49 p.m. It is unknown what items were taken.

 A robbery occurred on the 6200 block of Springhill Drive at 5:18 p.m. The victim was approached by the suspect, who displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a mask, black puffy coat and dark colored pants.
