Police Blotter: Feb. 27 – March 3

The weekly crime activity report from the Greenbelt Police.

Feb. 24: Apartment windows were broken on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane at 6:04 p.m.

Feb. 25: An apartment window was broken on 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 4:09 p.m.

A car window was broken on the 7500 block of Greenway Center Drive.

A vehicle was scratched on the 100 block of Westway.

Feb. 26: Electronics were taken on the 6200 block of Breezewood Drive at 6:46 p.m.

Ogborn Matthew Wilson, 37, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the 6000 block of Breezewood Drive at 9:18 p.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

A vehicle was scratched on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Lane.

A car window was broken on the 7600 block of Hanover Parkway.

Carlos Bonilla Gonzalez, 31, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane at 3:23 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Feb. 27: Graffiti was found on a sign along the lake foot path of Buddy Attick Park at 4:53 p.m.

Feb. 28: An attempted burglary occurred on the 7900 block of Greenbelt Road at 1:16 a.m.

An attempted robbery occurred on Southway and Ridge Road at 2:35 a.m. The suspect, known to the victims, approached the victims and tried to rob them. The suspect is described as a white male, tall, with black hair and tattoos.

Kirk Thomas Gardner, Jr., 21, of Brandywine, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, after a traffic stop on the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane at 8:52 a.m. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

Morris Kamara, 23, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with burglary and trespassing on private property after breaking into a vacant apartment on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court at 10:57 a.m. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

A set of Virginia tags was taken from a vehicle on the 6000 block of Springhill Drive.

A camera was taken from a vehicle on the 100 block of Westway.

A black 1992 Acura Legend with Maryland tags was taken.

A New York tag was taken on the 9100 block of Edmonston Terrace.

A car window was broken on the 9100 block of Edmonston Terrace.

March 1: Kevin Vaughan, 25, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with attempt armed robbery, first degree assault, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges after trying to rob the victim on the 6100 block of Breezewood Court at 10:41 a.m. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

A white 1998 Ford Crown Victoria with Maryland tags was taken on the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive.

March 2: Electronics were burglarized on the 9000 block of Breezewood Terrace at 12:44 p.m.

A sliding glass door was broken on the 9100 block of Edmonston Road at 5:46 p.m.

A rear Maryland tag was taken on the 100 block of Westway.

March 3: Apartment windows were broken on the 9300 block of Edmonston Road at 12:41 a.m.

Electronics were taken on the 7900 block of Mandan Road at 10:52 a.m.

One resident juvenile and one non-resident juvenile were petitioned for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 100 block of Westway at 4:22 p.m. Both subjects were released to a guardian pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services. In addition, Tyell Deontre Temoney, 18, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. Also, Howard Lee Wilder, 18, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. That suspect was released on citation pending trial.

An attempted burglary took place on the 7200 block of Hanover Parkway at 4:25 p.m.

Car keys and a white 2005 Chevrolet Impala with Virginia tags were taken on the 7600 block of Mandan Road at 5:57 p.m.
