Police Blotter: Aug 26 - Sept 2

The following arrest information was supplied by the Greenbelt Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

Aug 26: A robbery took place on the 7800 block of Mandan Road at 2:06 p.m. Two suspects entered the victim’s apartment, displayed handguns and took the victim’s property. The suspects are described as black males, one about 5’6”, and both wearing ski masks.

A non-resident juvenile was petitioned for trespassing on private property on the 7700 block of Hanover Parkway at 3:41 p.m. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.

A silver 2001 Chrysler 300M with Maryland tags was taken on the 200 block of Lakeside Drive.

Nine juveniles (most residents) were petitioned for burglary after breaking into a vacant apartment on the 9100 block of Springhill Lane. The juveniles were released to their respective guardians pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.

Aug 27: Andre Jamar Arthur, 25, of Bowie, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop on the intersection of Greenbelt Road at Hanover Parkway at 2:54 a.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

A strong arm robbery occurred near the intersection of Breezewood Drive and Cherrywood Terrace at 11:13 a.m. The victim was approached by two suspects, who forcibly took the victim’s purse. The suspects are described as black males, wearing white shirts and dark pants.

A resident juvenile was petitioned for trespassing on private property on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road at 7:07 p.m. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.

A burglary was reported on the 7100 block of Mathew Street at 8:14 p.m. Nothing was taken.

A cell phone, iPod and portable gaming system were taken from a vehicle on the 7600 block of Hanover Parkway.

An iPod, U.S. currency and a credit card were taken from a vehicle on the 7600 block of Hanover Parkway.

A green 2004 Dodge Intrepid with Maryland tags was taken on the 200 block of Lakeside Drive.

Aug 28: A ball was thrown through a window on the 9000 block of Breezewood Terrace at 1:38 p.m.

Quason Melvin Martin, 30, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop at 2 Court Southway  at 11:10 p.m. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

A red 2007 Suzuki Motorcycle with Virginia tags was taken on the 7500 block of Greenbrook Drive.

A blue 2001 Jeep Cherokee with Maryland tags was recovered by the Prince George's County Police on the 6100 block of Greenbelt Road, who made one arrest.

Aug 29: A strong arm robbery occurred on the 6000 block of Springhill Drive at 3:29 p.m. Two suspects approached the victim and demanded his property. The suspects are described as black males; one 20-25 years old, 5’7”, 215 pounds, wearing a white shirt and gray jeans; and the other wearing a multicolored shirt and dark colored jeans.

Aug 30: Graffiti was found on the walls of the underpass on Crescent Road at Hillside Road at 8:42 a.m.

A non-resident juvenile was petitioned for trespassing on private property on the 9100 block of Springhill Terrace at 9:23 a.m. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending action by the Department of Juvenile Services.

A strong arm robbery occurred on the 7900 block of Mandan Road at 7:28 p.m. The victim was approached by two suspects, who assaulted the victim and took his property. The suspects are described as black males, one about 6’3”, wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans, and the other wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

A vehicle was scratched on the 6000 block of Springhill Drive.

An iPod and GPS unit were taken from a vehicle on the 6300 block of Golden Triangle Drive.

Aug 31: An unoccupied vehicle was intentionally set on fire by unknown suspect(s) on the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 8:54 p.m.

A robbery occurred on the 7100 block of Greenbelt Road at 9:24 p.m. The victim was approached by two suspects, who assaulted the victim with a blunt object and took the victim’s money. The suspects are described as black males, possibly around 18 years old.

A radio/navigation unit was taken from a vehicle on the 6300 block of Golden Triangle Drive.

A rear Maryland tag was taken from a vehicle on the 7600 block of Mandan Road.

Graffiti was found on a vehicle on the 6000 block of Greenbelt Road.

Sept 1: A burglary took place on the  5800 block of Cherrywood Terrace at 6:37 p.m. Nothing was taken.

Sept 2: A vehicle was scratched on the 100 block of Westway.
