Photos of Suspected Bank Robber Emerge
Have you seen this man, suspected of robbing a Capital One Bank on Greenbelt Road last Saturday?
Photos have been released of a man suspected of robbing a Capital One Bank on Greenbelt Road in Lanham on July 16.
The suspect entered the bank, located along Greenbelt Road just across the border with Greenbelt, at 9:49 a.m., apparently slipping a note to a teller demanding money, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
The bank teller complied with the demands of the suspect — who had “implied” that he was armed — before fleeing the bank with an unconfirmed amount of money.
The suspect has been described as a black male standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He is thought to be between the ages of 20 and 25, and weigh in at around 125 pounds. The man was last seen sporting all black, including a black “kufi” cap and sunglasses, according to the county’s police blog.
Cpl. Erica Johnson, a spokeswoman for the Prince George’s County Police Department, said Tuesday no other information is available at this time; however, she added the department’s robbery unit seeks any and all information that may help lead to the arrest of the suspect.
Editor's Note: This story has been corrected. An earlier version incorrectly provided information about the bank's address. We regret the error. The Prince George's County Police Department stated the border in that area could be a little gray and initially listed the location we used for our original story, but it has since corrected its record as well.
