Greenbelt Police Share Burglary Prevention Tips

With recent residential burglaries throughout the city and the impending holiday, the police have released tips in preventing burglars from entering Greenbelt homes.

Several burglaries have happened throughout Greenbelt in recent weeks, so the police have issued tips on keeping residents safe:

  • Lock all windows and doors
  • Keep curtains shut and blinds drawn when not at home
  • Remember to arm alarm systems before leaving, if applicable
  • Do not leave empty boxes from expensive items out for trash pick up

Report suspicious activity to the Greenbelt Police as soon as possible at 301-474-7200 (non-emergency) or 301-474-5454 (emergency). For more ways to protect your home, call Officer Kelly Lawson at 240-542-2116 to set up a free home security survey.
