Greenbelt Police Report: Suspects Wearing 'Jason' Halloween Masks Rob Man, 2 Drug Arrests, Burglary

Two armed robberies, 2 drug arrests, a burglary, an attempted burglary, 5 DWI arrests, 2 vandalisms, a trespassing arrest and more were reported by the Greenbelt Police Department from Oct. 24 to Oct. 31.

Center City

Oct. 26 at 10:22 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Walker Drive at Greenbelt Road. A Hyattsville woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Oct. 27 at 12:29 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Rt. 495. An Adelphi woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 3:37 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Lakecrest Drive. A Laurel man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Oct. 28 at 11:11 a.m.:  Vandalism. 54 court Ridge Road. A window screen was cut; possibly by a suspect known to the victim.

At 2:03 p.m.: Vandalism. 39 court Ridge Road. Graffiti was found on a telephone pole and a garage.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

Oct. 26 at 2:31 a.m.: Drug Arrest. 6000 block Springhill Drive. An Upper Marlboro man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 5:40 p.m.: Drug Arrest. 5900 block Cherrywood Lane. A Burtonsville man was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on a citation pending trial.

At 8 p.m.: Armed Robbery. 6000 block Greenbelt Road. The victim was approached by the suspect, who implied he had a weapon, and took currency from the victim’s pocket. The suspect is described as a male, 15-18 years old, 5’8”, 150 pounds, wearing an olive colored jacket, black jeans and black shoes.

Oct. 27 at 11:41 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. 6100 block Breezewood Court. A Beltsville man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 11:56 p.m.: Armed Robbery. 5800 block Cherrywood Lane. The victim was approached by two suspects, who displayed a handgun, and took the victim’s property. The suspects are described as two males, 5’6”, 150 pounds, wearing Halloween masks. The suspects fled on a lime green scooter.

Oct. 28 at 1:54 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. A Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Oct 30 at 8:19 a.m.: Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. A Greenbelt teenager was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft, theft over $1000 and resisting arrest, among other charges after being stopped in a blue 1997 Honda Accord with MD tags that was reported stolen though the Prince George’s County Police. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Oct. 30 at 9:30 p.m.: Burglary. 9300 block Edmonston Road. Nothing was taken.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

Oct. 27 at 11:32 a.m.: Trespassing. 7500 block Greenbelt Road. A Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property. The suspect was released on a citation pending trial.

At 10:13 p.m.: Attempt Burglary. 8100 block Burkart Court. An adult of no fixed address was arrested and charged with attempted 1st degree burglary, among other charges. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Automotive Crime — City Wide 

Oct. 24: Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 6100 block Cherrywood Lane. A black 2006 Dodge Charger with MD tags was recovered by the Prince George’s County Police in Laurel. No arrests were made.

Oct. 26: Stolen/Recovered Vehicle. 9100 block Edmonston Court. A red 2002 Chrysler 300 with MD tags was taken. The vehicle was later recovered by the Prince George’s County Police in Landover. No arrests were made. 

Theft from Auto. 5800 block Cherrywood Terrace. A rear NC tag was taken.

Oct. 31: Theft from Auto. 7600 block Greenbelt Road. A purse was taken from an unlocked vehicle.
