Greenbelt Police Report Includes 2 Armed Robberies, 7 Drug Arrests, 5 DWI Arrests

Center City

April 26 at 9:19 p.m.: Burglary. Unit block Crescent Road. Change was taken from commercial washing machines.

At 9:30 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Walker Drive. Shantae Chanae Brown, 26, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

April 27 at 2:16 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Walker Drive. Samantha L. Brett, 22, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 11:09 p.m.: Robbery. 100 block Westway. The victim was approached by a suspect, who displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect is described as a black male, 22-23 years old, 5’9”, wearing all black clothing and a ski mask.

April 28 at 11:52 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Walker Drive. Gregory Allyn McConnell, 40, of Cheverly, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

May 2 at 12:12 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Crescent Road. Anthony David Owens, 50, of Laurel, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

April 25 at 8:13 p.m.: Burglary. 5800 block Cherrywood Terrace. Electronics were taken.

April 29 at 12 p.m.: Trespassing. 6000 block Greenbelt Road. Dwayne Bernett Walton, 53, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

At 1:02 p.m.: Trespassing. 6000 block Greenbelt Road. Jose Martin Rivas, 49, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

At 6:34 p.m.: Drug Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. Aaron Lionel Williamson, 22, and Mathew Louis Bizzell, 23, both of Greenbelt, were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, after a traffic stop. Both suspects were released on a citation pending trial.

April 30 at 6:37 a.m.: Vandalism. 6000 block Cherrywood Court. A window was broken.

May 1 at 2:19 a.m.: Robbery. 6200 block Springhill Court. Three suspects produced handguns and demanded property from the victims.

At 7:17 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Carlos Otonl Gutierrez Hurtado, 30, of Laurel, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

May 3 at 9:52 p.m.: Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. Electronics were taken.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

April 27 at 3:58 p.m.: Burglary. 7800 block Mandan Road. Electronics were taken.

At 4:13 p.m.: Trespassing. 7800 block Hanover Parkway. Franchot Lahron Wooten, 18, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with trespassing on private property. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

At 4:54 p.m.: Vandalism. 7800 block Hanover Parkway. Graffiti was found in the area of the bus stop.

At 8:38 p.m.: Drug Arrest. Ora Glen Drive at Mathew Street. Wayne Malchand Newman, Jr., 19, of Annapolis, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. Two other suspects, Jamal Cesar Wallace, 19, and Marquis McNeil Hunt, 18, both of Greenbelt, were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both of those suspects were released on citation pending trial.

May 1 at 12:04 a.m.: Drug Arrest. 7500 block Greenbelt Road. Jovaughn Andrew Proctor, 20, and Jonathan Alan Proctor, 20, both of Greenbelt, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, among other charges after a traffic stop. Both suspects were released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Automotive Crime — City Wide

April 26: Vandalism. 7500 block Greenbelt Road. A vehicle was scratched.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 100 block Westway. A white 1995 Honda Accord with NC tags, reported stolen through the Prince George’s County Police, was recovered. No arrests were made.

April 27: Vandalism. 6300 block Breezewood Drive. Two vehicles were scratched.

Theft from Auto. 7500 block Greenbelt Road. A rear MD tag was taken.

April 28: Vandalism. 39 court Ridge Road. A set of tires was cut.

Stolen Vehicle. 9000 block Breezewood Terrace. A white 2007 Jeep Liberty with VA tags was taken.

Stolen Vehicle. 9100 block Edmonston Road. A white 2006 Chevrolet Malibu with DC tags was taken. The vehicle was later recovered by Prince George’s County Police. No arrests were made.

April 29: Attempt Theft of Auto. 7700 block Hanover Parkway.

Theft from Auto. 100 block Westway. A rear MD tag was taken.

Theft from Auto. 7600 block Mandan Road. A catalytic converter was taken.

May 3: Theft from Auto. 9100 block Springhill Lane. Wheels were taken.
