Greenbelt Police Report: Attempted Murder, 3 DWIs, 2 Robberies, Burglary, 2 Vandalisms

The Greenbelt Police report for July 20 to July 25 includes an attempted murder, three DWIs, two strong armed robberies, a burglary, two acts of vandalism—and police list eight automotive crimes.

Center City

July 20 at 12:46 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Southway at Greenbelt Road. Aubrey Herring, 50, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

July 22 at 2:32 a.m.: Vandalism. 100 block Crescent Road. Graffiti was found on the tunnel walls.

July 23 at 1:06 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Walker Drive. Ronald Leon Thomas, Jr., 27, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

July 24 at 11:17 a.m.: Vandalism. 54 court Ridge Road. Graffiti was found on a street sign.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

July 22 at 12:32 a.m.: Strong Armed Robbery. Breezewood Drive at Springhill Lane. Two suspects approached the victim, assaulted him and took his property. The victim was treated at a local hospital for his injuries.

At 4:48 p.m.: Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. Jewelry and electronics were taken.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

July 20 at 2:36 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. 7000 block Hanover Parkway. Jamaal Snowden, 29, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 5:04 p.m.: Attempted Murder. 7900 block Mandan Road. Roderick Snowden, 24, of Greenbelt, after allegedly shooting and injuring the victim. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

July 21 at 1:06 a.m.: Strong Armed Robbery. 7900 block Good Luck Road. A suspect took money from the register and fled. The suspect was described as a male, wearing all black clothing and a black mask.

Automotive Crime—City Wide

July 20: Theft from Auto. 9000 block Breezewood Terrace. A DVD/CD player was taken.

July 21: Theft from Auto. 6000 block Greenbelt Road. Golf clubs were taken. 
Stolen Vehicle. 6000 block Greenbelt Road. A gray 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix with DC tags was taken. 

July 22: Theft from Auto. 6700 block Village Park Drive. A wallet and currency were among the items taken. 

Theft from Auto. 5900 block Greenbelt Road. Tools were taken. 

Theft from Auto. 6700 block Village Park Drive. A bag was taken.

July 24: Vandalism. 400 block Ridge Road. A window was broken. 

July 25: Theft from Auto. 6200 block Breezewood Court. Tools were taken.
