Greenbelt Police Report: Armed Robbery, 8 Burglaries, Strong Armed Robbery, 7 DWI Arrests

An armed robbery, eight burglaries, an attempted burglary, a strong armed robbery, six DWI arrests, a DWI and drug arrest, and 15 automotive crime incidents are in the Greenbelt police report from Nov. 21 to Nov. 28. 

Center City

Nov. 21 at 11:09 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Old Calvert. A 35-year-old Silver Spring man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Nov. 22 at 1:30 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Good Luck Road. A 42-year-old Lanham man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Nov. 25 at 3:14 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Old Calvert. A 35-year old Silver Spring man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 3:39 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Southway at Greenbelt Road. A 48-year-old Dunkirk woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

Nov. 21 at 5:23 p.m.: Burglary. 6200 block Springhill Court. Electronics, clothing and currency were among the items taken.

At 11:20 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Greenbelt Road. A 44-year-old Landover Hills woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol and possession of marijuana, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial. 

At 11:33 p.m.: Attempted Burglary. 5800 block Cherrywood Lane.

Nov. 22 at 8:50 p.m.: Burglary. 9100 block Springhill Lane. Electronics, clothing and currency were among the items taken.

Nov. 25 at 12:02 p.m.: Burglary. 9100 block Edmonston Court. Jewelry was taken.

At 2:08 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. 9100 block Edmonston Road. A 30-year-old Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial. 

At 6:48 p.m.: Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. Nothing was taken.

At 9:23 p.m.: Burglary. 6200 block Breezewood Drive. Electronics were taken.

At 11:28 p.m.: Burglary. 9100 block Edmonston Terrace. Nothing was taken.

Nov. 27 at 4:10 p.m.:  Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. Electronics and jewelry were among the items 

At 10:50 p.m.: Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. Electronics and jewelry were taken.

Nov. 28 at 3:25 a.m.: Armed Robbery. 9300 block Edmonston Road. Two suspects approached the victims, displayed a handgun, and took the victims’ property. The suspects are described as males, 20-30 years old, wearing all black clothing.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

Nov. 24 at 10:10 p.m.: Strong Armed Robbery. 8100 block Bird Lane. Two suspects approached the victim, assaulted him and took his property. The victim refused medical attention. The suspects are described as males, 5’8”, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black ski masks. 

Nov. 25 at 4:44 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Rt. 295 at Greenbelt Road. A 31-year-old Lanham man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Automotive Crime — City Wide

Nov. 22: Theft from Auto. 100 block Westway. Gasoline was taken from three vehicles.

Nov. 23: Theft from Auto. 9200 block Edmonston Road. A piece of a car’s bumper was taken.

Attempt Theft from Auto. 6400 block Capitol Drive. 

Theft from Auto. 6000 block Greenbelt Road. A DVD/CD player was taken.

Theft from Auto. 7500 block Greenway Center Drive. A pair of sunglasses was among the items taken.

Theft from Auto. 7200 block Hanover Drive. A purse and iPod were taken.

Vandalism. 7200 block Hanover Drive. A car window was broken.

Nov. 24: Vandalism. 9000 block Breezewood Terrace. Tires were flattened.

Nov. 25: Vandalism. Mandan Road at Hanover Parkway. Car windows were broken.

Stolen Vehicle. 8100 block Lakecrest Drive. A blue 2003 Dodge Caravan with MD tags was taken. 

Attempt Theft of Auto. 7800 block Mandan Road. 

Nov. 27: Stolen/Recovered Vehicle. 7700 block Hanover Parkway. A silver 2004 Ford Crown

Victoria with MD tags was taken. The vehicle was recovered later that day by Fairfax

County Police. No arrests were made.

Stolen Vehicle. 7800 block Mandan Road. A black 2001 Ford Crown Victoria with MD tags was taken.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 7900 block Mandan Road. A black 2003 Ford Crown Victoria with MD tags, reported stolen through Fairfax County Police, was recovered. No arrests were made.

Nov. 28: Theft from Auto. 7800 block Mandan Road. A GPS unit was among the items taken.
