Greenbelt Police Report: 3 Burglaries, an Attempted Burglary, 3 Drug Arrests, 7 DWI Arrests

Seven DWI arrests, three drug arrests, three burglaries, an attempted burglary, and six automotive crimes were reported by the Greenbelt Police Department from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2. 

Center City

Sept. 29 at 12:47 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Greenbelt Road. A Riverdale man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial. 

At 1:33 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Lakecrest Drive. A Riverdale man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

Sept. 26 at 7:27 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. 6200 block Springhill Drive. A Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Sept. 28 at 9:59 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. A Clinton resident was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Sept. 29 at 2:18 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Kenilworth Avenue.  A Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 11:49 p.m.: Drug Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Greenbelt Road. A Lanham teenager was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, after a traffic stop. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Sept. 30 at 1:17 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. A Woodbridge, VA man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 2:04 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Branchville Road. A Hyattsville man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Oct. 1 at 11:32 a.m.: Burglary. 5800 block Cherrywood Lane. Electronics were taken.

At 12:30 p.m.: Attempt Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Lane.

At 4:59 p.m.: Burglary. 6000 block Springhill Drive. Electronics, currency and clothing were among the items taken.

Oct. 2 at 2:26 p.m.: Burglary. 5800 block Cherrywood Lane. A refrigerator was taken from a vacant apartment.

At 7:47 p.m.: Drug Arrest. 9100 block Edmonston Road. A Washington, DC man was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was released on a citation pending trial.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

Sept. 29 at 5:36 p.m.: Drug Arrest. 7700 Hanover Parkway. A Greenbelt teenager was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Automotive Crime — City Wide

Sept. 28: Theft from Auto. 7800 block Hanover Parkway. A car stereo and laptop were taken.

Attempt Theft from Auto. 7800 block Hanover Parkway.

Sept. 30: Vandalism. 5800 block Cherrywood Terrace. Windows and a headlight were damaged.

Vandalism. 7200 block Hanover Drive. A vehicle was scratched.

Oct. 1: Stolen Vehicle. 6000 block Springhill Drive. A white 1996 Ford F150 with MD tags was taken.

Oct. 2: Theft from Auto. 7000 block Mathew Street. A GPS and two laptops were taken.
