Greenbelt Police Report: Vandalisms, Burglaries, Drug and Handgun Arrests Reported

The following arrest information, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 5 was supplied by the Greenbelt Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two drug arrests, a handgun arrest, two women arrested for disorderly conduct, three burglaries, six DWIs, two vandalism incidents, and eight automotive crimes were reported by the Greenbelt Police Department from Aug. 31 to Sept. 5.

Center City

Aug. 31 at 7:45 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Ridge Road at Northway. A Mount Rainier man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Sept. 1 at 12:50 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Lakecrest Drive. A Chicago, IL, man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 9:43 p.m.: Burglary. 100 block Ridge Road. Electronics were taken from a garage.

At 11:26: Burglary. 22 Ridge Road. Nothing was taken.

Sept. 2 at 2:10 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Old Calvert Road. A Beltsville man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Sept. 3 at 2:29 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Lakecrest Drive. A Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 8:07 a.m.: Vandalism. Unit block of Crescent Road. Graffiti was found on the tunnel walls near Roosevelt Center.

At 11:34 a.m.: Disorderly Conduct. Unit block of Crescent Road. An Upper Marlboro woman and a Silver Spring woman were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a fight. Both suspects were released on a citation pending trial.

At 8:51 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Lakecrest Drive. A Glenn Dale man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

Sept. 2 at 12:04 a.m.: Vandalism. 6200 block Breezewood Drive. A window was broken.

At 12:19 p.m.: Drug Arrest. 5500 block Cherrywood Lane. A College Park man was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on a citation pending trial.

Sept. 5 at 4:27 p.m.: Burglary. 9300 block Edmonston Road. Electronics, jewelry and currency were taken.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

Aug. 31 at 5:45 p.m.: Handgun/Drug Arrest. Hanover Parkway at Ora Glen Drive. A Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with transporting a handgun in a vehicle, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

Sept. 9 at 11:37 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. A Crofton man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Automotive Crime - City Wide

Aug. 31: Stolen/Recovered Vehicle. 100 block Westway. A gray 2001 Chrysler minivan with MD tags was taken. The vehicle was later recovered by Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. No arrests were made.

Stolen Vehicle. 5800 block Cherrywood Terrace. A black and red 2012 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle with MD tags was taken.

Stolen/Recovered Vehicle. 5800 block Cherrywood Lane. A blue 2001 Nissan X-Terra with MD tags was taken. The vehicle was later recovered by the Prince George’s County Police. No arrests were made.

Theft from Auto. 6500 block Capitol Drive. A handicap placard was taken.

Sept. 3: Vandalism. 7800 block Mandan Road. A window was broken.

Sept. 5: from Auto. 6000 block of Springhill Drive. Vehicle components were among the items taken.

Theft from Auto. 9100 block Springhill Lane. A set of MD tags were taken.

Theft from Auto. 6300 block Golden Triangle Drive. A GPS unit and sunglasses were among the items taken.

Theft from Auto. 6100 block Springhill Terrace. A rear GA tag was taken.
