Greenbelt Police Report: Attempted Murders, Burglaries and DWIs

The which included two attempted murders, four burglaries, a drug arrest and five DWIs.

Center City

June 22 at 12:32 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Kenilworth Avenue. Dieudonne Kamwa, 54, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

June 24 at 2:26 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Greenbelt Road. Oluwatoyin Rosaline Layeni, 21, of Riverdale, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 3:29 a.m. DUI/DWI Arrest. Crescent Road at Lastner Lane. Manuel De Jesus Turcios, 37, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

June 28 at 12:14 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Capitol Drive. Eboni Raquel Bacon, 26, of Sandy Spring, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol

June 22 at 12:03 a.m.: Vandalism. 5700 block Cherrywood Lane. A glass door was broken.

June 24 at 2:41 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Branchville Road. Edgar Bravo Osorio, 23, of Riverdale, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

June 25 at 4:47 p.m.: Vandalism. 9100 block Springhill Lane. A window was broken.

June 26 at 12:46 a.m.: Burglary. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. Electronics and jewelry were taken.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

June 22 at 2:06 a.m.: Drug Arrest. Greenbelt Road at Hanover Parkway. Darnita Laparris Guy, 30, of Riverdale, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citation pending trial.

At 7:55 p.m.: Burglary. 7800 block Greenbrook Drive. Electronics were among the items taken.

June 23 at 4:59 p.m.: Attempt Murder. 7900 block Good Luck Road. Ogunmuyima Bamidele Ogundele, 37, of Lanham, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder and attempted second degree murder after cutting two individuals with a knife during a dispute. The victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

June 26 at 8:32 a.m.: Burglary. 7500 block Greenway Center Drive. Electronics were taken.

At 9:09 a.m.: Burglary. 7500 block Greenway Center Drive. Currency was taken.

Automotive Crime — City Wide

June 22: Vandalism. 6100 block Breezewood Court. A windshield was damaged.

June 23: Theft from Auto. 7600 block Mandan Road. A stereo and laptop were taken.

June 25: Theft from Auto. 7800 block Mandan Road. A laptop and currency were among the items taken.

Theft from Auto. Unit block Gardenway. Prescription medications were taken.

June 26: Theft from Auto. 100 block Centerway. A purse and wallet were taken.
