Greenbelt Police Raid 3 Suspected Brothels

Greenbelt police reported raiding three brothels on Friday, two of them had been raided last summer, according to police.

The and members of the Metropolitan Area Drug Task Force (MADTF) raided three suspected brothels Friday that were operating under the guise of acupuncture and massage parlors, according to a press release by the Greenbelt Police.

Search and seizure warrants were served today, which were obtained after an ongoing investigation revealed sex acts were being performed inside the businesses in exchange for money, according to police.

Two of the businesses , but had resumed their illegal operations, according to police. One was an acupuncture health facility, operating from a business complex at 7335 Hanover Parkway, Suite C & D, in Greenbelt, police said.

The other was , located at 7743 Belle Pointe Drive in Greenbelt, according to police.

This time police said they also raided a third location at and 7525 Greenway Center Drive, Suite 116, in Greenbelt, Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Currency was seized and charges are pending in these cases, police said.

Patch attempted to contact businesses listed for 7743 Belle Pointe Drive and 7335 Hanover Parkway Suites C & D. Calls were not returned in time for this post. Patch was unable to locate a working phone number for 7525 Greenway Center Drive, Suite 116.

The addresses were included in the Greenbelt PD weekly police blotter, which was undoubtedly one of the sources for this story; anybody can sign up to receive the weekly blotter e-mail. It was quite a shock to me to learn that I live across from one of these establishments!

We seriously need to just legalize this. That way the police can focus on real crime rather than private contracts between consenting adults. It's so stupid that they have to constantly harass these girls.
