Greenbelt Police K9s Help Nab Robbers

Police dogs help identify suspects in robbery Wednesday.

A Greenbelt police K9 unit helped track two suspects who were involved in a robbery Wednesday on Cherrywood Court.

Police responded a call on the 6000 block of Cherrywood Court around 9:48 p.m. , according to the Greenbelt Police Department.

The K9 unit on scene tracked the suspects and located them a few blocks away, police said.

Jaquawn Emanuel Giovanni King, 19, and Charles Williams Johnson, Jr., 20, both of the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane were arrested and charged with armed robbery, strong-armed robbery and first degree assault, in addition to a number of other charges.

Both suspects were released to the county's Department of Corrections in Hyattsville for a hearing.
