Greenbelt Police Charge College Park Man in Historic Greenbelt Burglary

The Greenbelt Police have obtained a warrant to arrest Dewayne Kelvin Watkins, 52, of College Park for a burglary in historic Greenbelt earlier this month.

The Greenbelt Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit has obtained an arrest warrant for a College Park man in connection with a burglary in historic Greenbelt.

The police have charged Dewayne Kelvin Watkins, 52, of College Park with fourth degree burglary, second degree burglary and reckless endangerment in connection with a March 3 robbery at the 100 block of Westway.

On March 7, a Greenbelt Police Department K9 Officer identified the suspect after observing the suspect’s vehicle leaving the area of another reported burglary and made an investigative stop. After the stop, the suspect was taken into custody by a neighboring department for burglaries outside of Greenbelt as well. There is an ongoing investigation of the suspect’s possible involvement with other burglaries in the city.
