Greenbelt Man Killed in Crash on I-81 in Pennsylvania

The driver of the car steered left to miss a box, spun off the road and hit a tree, Citizens Voice reports.

A Greenbelt man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania Thursday at around 9 p.m., police report, according to Citizens Voice.

Erick Gabbidon, 22, of Greenbelt, was killed after the driver of the Nissan he was riding in steered left to avoid hitting a box on the road, then spun off the road and hit a tree, police say, according to Citizens Voice.

The driver of the car, Edris Imam, 22, of Laurel, was taken to a hospital, according to Citizens Voice.

Imam and Gabbidon were wearing seatbelts, according to authorities, Citizens Voice reports.
